- Handling Employment Tribunal Applications on behalf of Employers which resulted in cases being settled through ACAS at minimal cost to the Companies concerned. Likely awards for compensation, (had these cases progressed to Tribunals), would have been in the order of £6k - £12k had judgements been awarded against these Companies which is in addition to the legal costs in defending the cases.
- Development of suites of robust and business specific HR Policies for companies that previously had no policies in place and up-dating existing policies that were outdated or unsuitable.
- Completing an absence management project that resulted in a 50% reduction in absence and 2% improvement on bottom line performance and zero long term absences in a company employing over 200 staff.
- Drafting contracts of employment for start-up companies that were be-spoked to the organisations type and size. Varying contracts of employment for numerous organisations, thereby providing greater flexibility and protection for the companies in question.
- Assisting a Company with significant growth potential that was experiencing difficulties in expanding due to several factors.
Initial brief/task -
Review the current roles and responsibilities, recruitment planned and develop a new organisation structure with transitional structures as required.
Review skills/proficiencies of existing staff and create an outline training and development plan for staff in support of the new structure.
Clarify responsibilities and authorities.
Work Undertaken on the client’s behalf.
- Clearly defining existing Job Roles Responsibilities and Competencies, compiling Job Descriptions for existing positions within the Organisation.
- Coaching and mentoring the Directors in how to compile job descriptions, with emphasis on the job/person spec, skills, experience qualifications, functional and behavioural competencies for each position within the company.
- Conducting a Training Needs Analysis that highlighted shortfalls in Functional Skills and Knowledge of existing staff, coaching and mentoring directors in how to undertake a training needs analysis (together with the provision of supporting documentation for completion).
- Determining where the organisation needed to be strengthened in terms of staffing levels/positions.
- Agreed with company a new organisation structure together with transitional arrangements in developing the new structure.
- Provision of advice to the Directors on Performance Management and objective setting.
